    yeah, just get him the psu, and card. my bro ( 1 didnt ask me anything about upgrading, just bought a " graphics card" and put it in his computer. i asked him what kind, he said, "loud" . he is happ with its performance, so sure, whatever floats your boat.

    plus, this way, if your boy doesnt appreciate it, you arent in it for mad cash.

              From the looks of this I can safely say you will probably need a faster rig when that card can no longer cut the mustard. Im running a GTX 285 and my e8500 at 4 ghz was holding it back. Now its holding my stock 2500k back I use 1900x1200 rez and it does pretty well with most games using anywhere from med to ultra high settings depending on the game.

                Ha I have run into the same problem with my GTX275. I plan to get a new video card right before BF3 comes out...
