Okay, putting the splitter on did not work...the signal died after a day and a half and now just running on a direct connection.

So, I'm just relying on that, don't know what to do.

At this point it's one of two things: cable modem, or your cable company's signal coming into your house.

Insist on speaking to a supervisor at tech support.

Okay, apparently it can't be the modem, because the direction connection seems to be working consitantly.

So, if the modem ONLY can work WITHOUT a splitter, then how in the heck can I can hook up my TV's? LOL or I can go without TV, lol.

Talk to a supervisor and see if they can put a signal booster on your line on the outside to increase the signal strength coming into your home.

Comcast can do that? Can I get one of those myself and install it?

i would just tell them that you stated above.. the direct connection works, but i can not split into internet or to TV. If you have those options, you are paying for it, and they are obligated to make it work. if you just had internet and were pirating a TV signal , you couldnt really talk smack, but i assume you pay for both, so get some supervisor on the line.
( whenever dealing with comcast, just tell them the entry level can not help you, and just ask for supervisor immediately.)

One can buy boosters themselves. I have one on my interior, main HDTV run. But for an outside booster, you're going to want one from them. And since they're giving you so much trouble, you should get them to cover all the costs. You pay them, THEY have to meet their agreement with you as a customer to provide the level of service you are paying for.

                    Oh okay,

Well, so far, it seems their final solution is, "If a splitter isn't doing it's job, then we need to run a 2nd line/drop".

But Ill contact them to see what happens next.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
