SLI Bridge

Is there a specific SLI bridge I would have to use to put the Nvidia GeForce 570 GTX HD into SLI? Just wondering. Thanks!

An SLI bridge should have come with your motherboard.

I had two bridges come with my motherboard, one foe tri SLI and the other one was a flexible one which allows for two different dual SLI setups. You can see it near the back of the cards.

Here is a pic of mine using the flexible one, I later slid the second card to the lower slot though.

SLI is SLI, only difference may be length of connector. i have a solid one, and a flexible one like duke has. both appear to be same length.

Currently I have a 850 watt power supply and I was wondering if I needed more power to put in a second video card. Here are my specs below:

You should e fine. I had to guess on things like fans but I came up with 668W with an OC of 4.0 on your CPU.

Use this calculator and put in all the parts yourself before you take the plunge.

The results of PSU calculators should be used as a rough guess only. Most of the time they over estimate quite a lot.

Quite a lot is an understatement lol.

I have a Killawatt meter on my desktop gaming rig including my 24" lcd. With Intel Burn Test and 3dmark vantage running im only pulling 420 watts. thats including the monitor..... That psu site says I need a minimum 640 watt psu..... And recommend a 700......

So if i minus the monitor which is 50 watts, my system full tilt needs 370 watts to run but they are telling me to buy something twice that powerful........


2500k stock with gtx 285 btw.

THIS has me thinking you will be close with 2 570's. But its hard to tell without building it. You will loose some power to the PSU itself. Dont go adding any car head lights or cigarette lighters to it

I'm on my phone now so its a pain to check but there is a setting that has the percent usage so I think there is bedroom un that number.

I would love to measure my vantage sometime to see how accurate.

I would appreciate it if a person can once and for all answer me this questions. I've asked almost everyone I know. Never gotten a clear answer.

If my motherboard supports 3x/4x Sli, why can't I put one in the top slot, skip a slot, and put another in the 3rd slot. As everyone knows, SLI will pretty much cut out the air to the first card. Why, why for the love of God, why can't a company understand that and make a motherboard where you can have an empty space of at least 1 inch between the PCI-e slots. Does one exist? I have never seen one. I want SLI, but I don't want to choke my first card.

As long as you can find an sli bridge long enough you can do it.

I have seen some motherboards with long bridges to let you do that.

Look in your EVGA Classified box. you should have one of these Even though its for 3-way SLI +Physx card, you can use this for 2 way SLI and have all the air room you need.




If you can find the old XFX SLI ribbon, they have a long version. ASUS also have long ribbons

The bottom orange ribbon is made for 2-way sli (no slot skipping)
The bottom 3way slot can also be use 2 way. Just skip the middle plug

I skipped a slot but I don't have full PCIe x2 on the second one, I don't know exactly what that means but it comes down to a 4% loss in performance over having both X2 slots.
