    Actually, if you look at the site you linked, 2014 is extended support for those who have purchased that. Extended support is not available for consumers, only commercial customers who have bought it. Consumer support ended April 14, 2009.

      At the very least Tony, make sure you have Service Pack 3.

          I quoted directly from their Windows XP tab where it said, "...we still plan to provide support for individual users and businesses until April 2014." Maybe that didn't come up in the default view on the link?

          Individual users have 3 more years. I guess they intentionally left the old date on their main page to encourage folks to upgrade sooner.
