EA trying to give steam a run for its money

I think it's a foolish move, I have had nothing but troubles getting things from EA and Crysis 2 has not only been out for a while but it kind of sucks. Now If I can't get BF3 on Steam I will buy a hard copy instead of going through the EA download process.

I always get hard copies. Dont have to worry about bandwidth and troubles with corrupted files. Or getting almost done and something restarts your download from scratch. Not everything that counts on the battlefield is countable.

It probably won't matter if you buy a hardcopy or digital image:
EA will force the users to install Origin for the account activation, use Windows Live for the stat system plus Gamespy for the team chat...Please like Pocket Radio Player on Facebook to support this little Freeware app.

Well it looks as though it was Steam that pulled it because of some sort of business agreement.
UPDATE: EA said that Crysis 2 was pulled by Steam because of a change in its terms. "It's unfortunate that Steam has removed Crysis 2 from their service," an EA representative clarified. "This was not an EA decision or the result of any action by EA. Steam has imposed a set of business terms for developers hoping to sell content on that service - many of which are not imposed by other online game services. Unfortunately, Crytek has an agreement with another download service which violates the new rules from Steam and resulted in its expulsion of Crysis 2 from Steam. Crysis 2 continues to be available on several other download services including GameStop, Amazon, Origin.com and more." -Thanks Tim!
