    Mac laptop suggestions?

My daughter is going off to college for Graphics art design. I'd like to get her a decent Mac that will do the job (run their creative suite) and last her at least 3yrs but not be overkill on my pocket book. Looking for a 15.6" size (or around). Any suggestion on which one to get from all of our artists out there?

    Thanks,
    Pigworthy.

if you want to go easy on pocket book, go with a PC. you can get monster PC's that will blow the pants off any mac for about 1/2 the price.

She wont look as cool amongst her peers though. Mac has trendster status, PC's dont.

Just get a PC and stick an Apple sticker on the top.

          Here's some actual advice:

The 15" Macbook Pro starts at $1,799. Customize here: Configure - Apple Store (U.S.)

Since she's going to be running the Abobe suite and other processor and memory intensive programs, she needs to go with the Pro line. A regular Macbook won't quite cut it.

our advice was legit. she can get a monster PC for about 300-400 less than that, run all the aps and adobe she wants.

Most graphic design institutions require a Mac. Most graphic design programs are designed for a Mac.

Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. is a much more pleasant experience on a Mac. They feel downright clunky on a PC.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
