any of you have mechanical keyboards?

i posted an article link the other day breaking down different switches etc in key boards.
I am not sure if i have ever owned a mechanical keyboard. the two i have currently are not. Other than letters wearing off the keys( only took about 10 years) they work just fine. ive never died thinking " damn, its that damn keys fault, if only it reacted faster!"

but i am just curious. any of you have a mechanical keyboard? i consider myself a gamer, but when you are looking at a keyboard, 1 for 10$ and the other for 100+$ its a pretty easy choice to go with mr cheapy.

apparently they have been out so long, that some of the switches arent as good as newer ones. makes me wonder if i have ever had my hands on one of these.

I have the new Razer Black widow Mechanical Keyboard i must say you do notice the difference with the keys for one they always work lol not like when you push E and it doesn't knife because you didn't push it hard enough but the modern mechanical gaming keyboards are very good!

that KB is on sale today at newegg for 99.99. i bought my last KB for 7.99 actually. so just made me wonder, is the extra 72$ worth it?

maybe time to go to a store and see if they have one on display.

I thought about getting a Black Widow, but couldn't really justify it, so I picked up a cheap Logitech for $15 instead. I don't use my KB for gaming anyway; that is what my G13 is for

I don't think it is, but it works great. I can hold down five keys simultaneously and all of them will register. It also has an application that lets you customize it for each game, so you don't have to change any in-game settings. It will automatically switch to the right profile when you start the game.

I got it on sale for ~$50.
