Tell me more about Sandy Bridge-E ??

I assume it will require a new motherboard and will be a new socket ??

Does it sounds like it will be worth waiting for??

It will be a new socket and chipset. It is basically a desktop version of the Sandy Bridge server chip. It will support 4-channel DDR3 and probably have more PCIe lanes than the 1155 chips. I'm not sure what other advantages it will have. If you have the money, though, it will probably be the best bet.
