its hard to explain they keys are much easier to push down you wont notice unless you get one but in all seriousness there probably not worth the money but i think they look cool sound cool feel cool

I thought about getting a Black Widow a few months ago, but I couldn't justify the price.

Yeah I'm enjoying mine as well. The keys are designed to cause less figure fatigue. I had pretty much worn out my 1st gen G15 to the point of paint was rubbed off the keys around AWSD.
Plus I love the old school click sound the keys make. Brings me back to the days of the 8088.

Started looking at them. There are mixed signals sent about these keyboards.

It sounds like the PS/2 style is the best to go with right now.. Unfortunately, most of the ones that are available (from where I shop) are USB based. I dislike this type of information, because it means either someone is wrong, or not all of the companies have caught on, and are just using the mechanical thing as a selling point....

There is also the cost. I see a couple in the 20-40$ range, and then many more in the 90-150 range. What makes them so much more costly?

I am hung up on the price and the ps/2 thing. For that kind of price, I would expect more features...

I see das keyboards, and steelseries, and even the razer... I have had bad luck with razer products in the past. The das board, while seems popular, is pricey. ..

Mechanical Keyboards are all about the feel of the keys...

They may, or may not be better for gaming, depending on what you like, and what you are accustomed to using.

Sounds like a giant PITA. Also sounds like something you'd need some hands on checking to see what is really the best feel.

Too bad brick stores are not that common in this area. I would really love to give a few of those keyboards some strokes to see what feels best.

I think I am going to pick up that Tt one I linked a couple of posts up. At the very least, it sounds good. Worse case, I can set it afire if it really irritates me. My G15 is starting to die - I noticed more ghosting and keys not registering the last time I played. There's also some lights that have been flickering for a couple of weeks. I suppose nearly 6 years on one Keyboard that I paid $75 for is a good deal.
