    New Speakers

Ok I need some info on speakers. I am in the 75-120 range for price.
I have had the surround sound but never put the speakers behind me. Nor really noticed the sound coming from them(usually have the tv on at the same time).
So I was thinking of a 2.1 system from logitech. (I have a 20% off coupon for their store).<if your in NYC or NJ I might be able to get something for someone>

If someone has any other product they would tell me about I would be happy to listen.

Ok i run this exact same sound system It is perfect for what a gamer/music enthusiast wants !! its great sound quality easy to work at an awesome price you CANNOT beat it.. for gaming you do not need a full blown speaker system.. this will be nearly to much .. you set this up correctly you can hear people coming from every direction! its awesome!

I use my Skull Candy Hesh headphone with another headset with a mic around my neck.

I must look so nerdy lol.

i used a turtle beach head set but i nearly always just have the mic on and the surround speakers on quite quite loud either way get the speaker setup and a decent gaming headset you set for all situations!

I prefer gaming with a headset. I rarely turn the speakers on my computer up, and have had the same ones for 12 years.

I would actually do this<and used to>, but can't find a mic that goes around the neck.

I looked at the turtle beach ones and nobody will open one up for me to try. The logitech ones were to tight around the ears.

For headphones I was thinking Grado. Not gaming but very good company for music.
I am also on a budget here... and 2 music devices that cost over $100 I don't think would be worth it.

Another question. The gaming headsets are the mics always on or can you toggle it on and off on the keyboard?

They are always on (this is usually the case will all mics on computers). However, you won't be broadcasting all the time. Most games have a push-to-talk button. TS3 has the option to use PTT or broadcast automatically when you talk.

I use some logitech z-2300 speakers. 200 watts rms, perfect for me. Very clear sound, never distorted. I like a subwoofer that can do some shaking though.

I would personally go for these, the Z623: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speake...s/devices/7321

When using their website this one is not set as a gaming speakers. I am sure it can work... but what is the real difference?

The main difference is the 5x watts. They will hook up the exact same way.

The categories Logitech uses have always been weird to me. Some of those other speakers in the gaming category are just plain sad.

Some of the reviews mentioned not hearing anything from the rear speakers.. whats the volume like in the rear speakers?

Good thing is the sub woofer is big enough to use as a foot rest.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
