Earlier this year I made the jump to SSD's for all the laptops I buy for work. All Dell Latitude systems, so they are all Samsung SSD's. Not a single one has had an issue as of yet. I bought myself a rebranded A-Data SSD for personal use and I would say it's been sub-par reliability at best. For example, not a single system I have put it in can go into sleep mode. Always crashes on resume, even though the latest firmware said they fixed that bug... lovely.
However, the performance of even off-brand ones just crushes mechanical drives. I say stick with the big names (Samsung, Intel...) and you won't regret it.
