I think it comes down to what is more valuable to you.

      Your Time? Buy a Dell.

Your Money? Build one yourself then.

I usually can save about $1000 for a pretty highend system building it myself. That is worth my time for me. If it was only $300-$500, I'd probably order it and not have the hassle.

Cain, if you did buy a Dell, what would you buy? Specs?

Nvidia has the crappiest looking coolers. I'm not asking for much. Give me translucent blue plastic with a fan that lights up.

Truth be told, i am working on this EXACT thing now. lol.
On starting up your own place to build PCs or shopping for a PC place to have your stuff built at?
More of starting with a PC components configurer(free of course), and possibly down the line actually building the systems themselves.

One thing that's always irked me is the lack of component compatable things out out there. you buy a mobo, but are not sure if it'll work with certain parts. ram is particularly testy, and for the novice, or new to building user, it could come in handy.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
