I starting to dislike it already.. losing my interest for Windows 8.
I rather keep Windows 7.. -
I think windows 8 is about convergence - tablet / pc /phone, all having a similar interface.
Don't knock it till ya try it. I know my android tablet doesn't have a start button, and i don't miss it a bit. But that *is* different than using my computer.
However, with launchy, I find that I never use the start button anyway. That is no exaggeration, I don't. I use launchy to start everything.Comment

Yeah, I sometimes wonder if every person who makes decisions is chosen to make the wrong ones. Who in Microsoft thought "Hmm, this iconic part of windows. This purely Microsoft innovation that has been here for more than a decade should be dropped and replaced." I don't care how good the replacement is going to be. Why change it? Because it works just fine. I haven't seen anybody earn a bonus, get promoted, or get reelected by keeping someone else's good design.
"Follow the money" means the same as "check the incentives". Smart people do whatever action is rewarded.

Win 9, huh ?? Wow, you really got in early on the MS beta builds !
Win Vista and 7 upped the security quite a bit, but what annoys me about both is the way MS hid so many of the formerly out in the open tools, preferring to dumb it down so that the average user wasn't bothered with all of the extra stuff.
Having to support a large Win XP base, it was easy to create a default profile and have each new user already set with a pre-defined desktop and all settings already in place.
