    mSATA slot and SRT question

Is this option worht the money if you already have a SSD? From what I know it saves frequently used files on a small drive for faster operation but if you have a SSD for an OS drive does it matter?

No advantage at all if you already have an SSD. An mSATA SSD used as a cache for a boot drive SSD is redundant.

Now what that mSATA SSD used as RST does that your boot drive SSD doesn't do is give you a much larger boot partition. You are no longer limited to a 120 or 256GB C: drive that will eventually fill up faster than you expected.

I have an Intel 'Larsen Creek' 311 series 20GB SSD used as an RST that caches a RAID0 WD 1TB Black HDD striped array. Benching it against a true SSD, I lose quite easily, but its still about 5x faster than a typical single drive setup, so it still provides a tangible performance boost, as long as your recent apps fit in that 20GB cached SSD.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
