Broken laptop.

I dropped my laptop the other day which led to a screen breakage. Has anyone here replaced one?

Will a screen from an older 17" laptop fit or is each particular model different? I have an older Dell XPS with the same screen size and resolution.

I believe you have to get an exact replacement. Laptop screens use custom connectors, so you can't just take another 17" screen and connect it.
