Need help on Steam

Why does Steam try and re download previous games I have uninstalled.Every time I connect to Steam I have to go in and stop about 8 different games from trying to reinstall on my machine. All I can do at this point is just pause the downloads when they start.

don't know but steam always is patching something with each game I have.

They shouldn't be re-downloading the whole game. They're auto-patching what you already have. Sometimes, like the TF2 Halloween thing, the patches are huge.

Weird..it shouldn't be doing that. Unless you have games install through disc and is compatible with steam but you don't use it. so when you launch steam, steam would recognize it and try to install it.

Yikes, I have never had that happen to me, are you sure you uninstalled them?

Yep , they're gone. Not on my machine anymore. Thing is it's trying to do all of em not just one.

I would email steam support. You might just need to delete some registry entry or file.

It might of some how been setup for auto DL of game files...check your settings

I'm a bit late to the party but I suggest deleting your clientregistry.blob located in the main steam folder, located at

"C:\Program Files\Steam\" usually.

deleting the file usually helps with problems that prevent you from logging on and could help stop things from downloading.
