Video card suggestions

Looking for a newer better video card...

Want something fast, silent good for gaming, about 300 bucks or so....

Also must have dual DVI outs which I guess they all have these days.

Is it me or do you upgrade your gfx card once every 6 months?!?!?

In times past I would be able to help you out a little more but have been out of the part buying loop for awhile. From my quick poking around it seems $300.00 that the two best choices would be the Nvidia 660 ti or the AMD 7950. Because AMD usually has better bang for the buck that may be the better choice. Wish I could give you more information.

The AMD HD7950 would also be my choice, Duke. However they only come with 1 DVI. DVI is old now hat that HDMI and Mini Displayport are here. A HDMI to DVI cable would work just fine though.

I have a GTX570, but it is broken and crashes me.

I'm running an older I think 9800 something in its place.

Typical Cain .. OVERKILL !!! I like it, but I am not a budget video card shopper. I can skimp on pretty much anything else, but when it comes to a video card and PSU, I buy higher on the scale. I do think that 680 is quite overpriced, but it is top dog when compared to almost any other card out there.

This card drops the performance and price a notch ($110 less), and still gives you the games bundle - eVGA 670 FTW:

On the high end cards this is true but you need to check the suffix and lok it up tobe sure.

Warranty Length

An EVGA product contains a suffix used to identify the warranty. As an example: 130-SB-E675-KR shows -KR for the suffix. This example can be used for all EVGA part numbers when referencing the suffix.

All products purchased ON or AFTER July 1st, 2011 include a 3 year limited warranty from the date of purchase to the original owner with a valid invoice. For original owners without a valid invoice and users that have not purchased the product from an authorized reseller, the warranty begins from the date the product was shipped from EVGA's warehouse. Registration is recommended.

A review:

When EVGA released the GTX 680, I was really hoping to get my hands on one to upgrade from a GTX 570 SC. These dreams quickly died when I saw how third party vendors were price gouging these cards hundreds of dollars above MSRP due to limited quantities.

I then looked into the GTX 670's. If I was going to be spending several hundreds of dollars, I wanted to make sure I would have no buyer's regret. I looked at the clock speeds of the GTX 670 FTW and then looked up the clock speeds of a GTX 680. To my shock, they were exactly the same! I quickly compared the prices. About a $100 dollar difference! I was immediately sold on the GTX 670 FTW. This card is absolutely the best value for your buck when buying into the GTX 600 series cards.

After several days of use, the card runs very quiet and cool. Significantly cooler than my previous GTX 570 SC. Furthermore, this card can be overclocked using EVGA Precision X software.

Not sure if you have bought a card yet but I prefer the radeon cards over nvidia simply because they look better with their video. Nvidia always looked dithered to me. I have a 7950, and I can tell you its one helluva card. the color detail is awesome, and IMHO, better looking than the nvidia cards. I play CS:GO with all the graphics setting as high as they will go and get awesome frames.
