Can't play Beta, what should i upgrade to

OK, I'm OLD school.. gotten by BARELY up to this time with dual core board.. 6700 AMD vid

Can't play beta BF4, it hangs on load to servers

What's the recommendations... I've got some money... just not the time to research at this time... Normally I'd spend a gazillion hours researching the boards and ram, and .....

Taking off this week for Pneumonia.. working 2 jobs sometimes drags you down, much less playing with your buds on free time ... Now I can play, but can't play

You have more than enough to build up a sweet rig. I wouldn't judge too much on the Beta though, it's a beta.

That is a great budget. But don't use all of it simply because you can.

I want something upper 3/4, but not budget killers...

In other words, I want a discount on dang good quality board/cpu/mem/graphics.. LOL

Funny,, Kid and Wifey (TWW... The Wicked Witch) both have 6 core boards with nice upper echelon cards... I'm sucking hind whatervers... lol

Your video card is a little older, but it G3D benchmarks at 2000. You can get an ATI 7750-7770 for $150 with BM around 4000-4500. Are you running a 64 bit operating system (Vista or W7)? If not, this may be why you cant get into the beta. The retail game will suport a 32 bit OS, but you need 64 bit for the beta. It should run with a dual core as well, depending on your clock speed. this is the minimum requirements:

The BF4 Beta requires a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 (the full version of Battlefield 4 will also support 32-bit operating systems.)

That should run - I wonder what the issue is...probably a dumb question, but do you have Catalyst 13.4 or newer AMD drivers? I had old 11.11 and the beta wouldnt let me into a populate server until upgrading to at least 13.4 (I'm at 13.9 now).

ATI HD 5870 w/ 1 gb vram
8 gb RAM
1 tb HDD

Runs great (60 fps) on medium and good (45 fps) with mixed med/high settings. Dont know why you couldnt run it so I'll let the other guys assist you now - good luck
