I finally contacted customer support about my problem. Basically reinstalled Windows 10 on top of itself. Worked great. Everything is working well now.

Yeah so far I have only been able to get it on my gaming desktop. I have two laptops, one with Windows 8, and still can't install it on either of those. Haven't tried my old desktop I gave the kids yet.

I have one laptop that I bought around 2006 that came with XP. I installed Windows 8 on it last years and it upgraded fine to Windows 10. And as a bonus it loads and runs faster than it did on either of the two previous OS's.

Upgraded the Windows 8 laptop and old gaming desktop to Windows 10 a few days ago. Both went off without a hitch.

My step dads laptop had an issue, if you get it reverting try disabling your WiFI adapter in the device manager.
Atheros/Qualcomm ones seem to be triggering a failure to upgrade.

Yet to do my PC's and Scotts laptop, will find out soon enough though.
I cheated with myself in the laptop department, got myself a Surface Pro i7 the other week, it came with win10 on it.
No real issues with it so far, few of my older games that i'd have loved to have on the thing dont like it but I'm chocking that up to the fact they are old games, new hardware and new os.

I have seen a few issues with some older games as well. My daughter and son love Spore, and had a lot of crashing . Had to set Windows 7 compatibility mode, and still getting some crashing.

On the other hand, I reinstalled Fallout New Vegas last week as a primer for Fallout 4, and it is working great.

I had an issue where my Windows 10 PC would not enter standby, sleep or screensaver mode automatically, I was chasing this for awhile and found a post where someone remove all the USB drivers, I did that and now it works flawlessly.

system not going into sleep etc usually is a bad driver.
i think the commands powercfg from the command line, is a switch to ask it whats keeping it awake.

sometimes if you have hyper-v installed it can cause issues with that too.

I ran into another issue with my gaming system. After resuming from S3 it became a bit unstable and would get laggy, for lack of a better word. I ended up disabling S3.

depending on the lag, id check your video drivers are updated if its a video lag, or pausing.
others id check 3rd party drivers are updated, if its only recent i'd roll back any drivers in the device manager dated around that time.
usb devices and some 'cheaper' nics are usually the culprit of S3 issues ive seen,
sometimes the devices dont go into D3 correctly or come out of it cleanly with win10, its like it does not give them time to enter the state.

you should know the one by one rule when checking so wont go into it.
if you find one does cause an issue, disable it and then uninstall the drivers from device manager, reboot and it should pull a clean install from windows update.

then maybe try these in cmd if you want, i really hate these commands, i had issues with them in xp so i avoid them, well sfc anyway...

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow
let windows do a check on the component store and check the system for bad files.
dism should pull the latest image from MS before the check, so dism will take sometime to run.

most of the people i've had complain to me personally about windows 10 upgrade, its been the update imaged badly on their PCs,
these seem to have been early eager beavers that did not wait a bit first, the usual with releases.
