The others could not even come close to the resolution this thing gets.
It weighs about 75 lbs.
I have yet to see another TV of any sort that exceeds the quality of the picture I get on this mofo. 1080p (1920 x 1080)
Those pictures dont do any justice to the quality due to the poor lighting.
I can play COD4 in half screen PIP while watching TV on the other half as it will display two separate signals under Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode.
i am actually looking at the Aquos LC-52D64U as a replacement pc monitor. it supports the 1080p 1920x1080 resolution via HDMI, and have heard alot about it being used as much. plasma i like for color, but due to the size constraints of my house, a rear projection tv won't cut it. i'd love to get a dlp tv. and the aquos or Bravia XBR seems to be a cut above the rest. given the choice, would you look at the Aquos, or Bravia XBR? i'd rather havean lcd as i like them better over all vs the plasma. plasma is indeed better for cinema, but this will be more ofa pc monitor
Exact opposite for me. Plasma's colour reproduction is far far far too vibrant and in most cases looks fake. And the black level between LCD and Plasma is minimal, if not the same now.
The Bravias are the best LCDs out there, generally speaking. The problem is, Sony knows it and prices accordingly. The Aquos series is also excellent, but much cheaper at the same sizes as the Bravias, so go with the Aquos. I have two 32" Aquos in my house now, a 720p and a 1080p, and I love the things. A 52 would be awesome.
I've actually decided to scrap the entertainment pc idea. Instead what I want is a fanless mini ITX board in a fanless case with a solid state drive or CF card. I'd boot linux and access everything over the net. I'd pretty much used it for music streaming (I have a ampache server up) and web browsing. I've decided to go this route cause I don't really care about mythtv. I currently have two replayTV's and yeah the subscription fees cost about 150 a year. However buying the hardware for a mythbox and making sure it all works nicely for my wife just made me decide to go a mini ITX route.
I've been Alpha and will be Beta testing the Delta Force game. It's been really getting good reviews! Definitely a good Battlefield feel to it like the...
