    Gaming Mice

For the last couple of years I've been really happy with my Logitech G7 mouse (the wireless version of the G5), but I'm starting to get the dreaded double-click issue, and that means it's time to pick up a new gaming mouse!

When I got the G7, there really weren't many options out there. Now, there's a whole bunch of highly rated mice to choose from.

Do you guys have any opinions or recommendations?

The few mice that seem to stand out are the:
    Logitech G9
    Microsoft Sidewinder
    The (trusty ol') Logitech G5/G7

    I have a g9 mouse.

    I really like it.

It's so like professional, it has 2 grips, and a bunch of weights you can put in if you want it. It's not the most comfortable mouse, but it is meant to be a "claw grip" mouse, and if you do the claw grip it isn't uncomfortable.

"Claw grip" is moving the mouse with only your fingers, and your palm is in the air.

Here is a mouse thread from a few months ago

      http://dark4se.com/cainslairforums/v...ighlight=mouse

Not sure if the mouse market has changed much, but it has a few opinions. Consensus seems to be to the G5.
[this is where my funky sig would go. But I don't have one.
So all you get is this crappy text]

That thread is mostly Razors vs. G5, but it does show just how popular the G5 is...

BenKenobi: I've read a bit about the mouse, and a few people have said the same thing about the grip. I do some claw gripping, but not always. I guess I should try to head down to Best Buy or something and see if they have any on display.

Mind you it's not uncomfortable if you're not claw gripping it, my dad uses it all the time for work related stuff and solitaire lol

Just get the 7-button G5 (the one with 2 thumb buttons)

              You can't mess with perfection

Thanks, Twinky. I've missed you guys. Can't WAIT to get my COD4 installed and get into the Lair. I'm sure I'll be cannon fodder for a while, but that'll change with some experience.

+2 I have a MX518, and I love it. The new G5 adds mouse-wheel tilt and keeps both thumb buttons. I'm tempted to break my 518 just so I can get a G5.

Speaking of gaming mice, for those with a G5 or similar mouse, would you mind posting what kind of button association you use?

I may have to try the G5 when my Copperheads die. I am on my second one in 6 months so this last time I bought two. If they keep breaking this quickly then I am changing brands. No I don't abuse them. There is some issue with the Copperhead mice that the sensor chip just quits for no reason.

Having tried many cases I've given up on expensive ones. Not convinced they are significantly better than an inexpensive gel case for 1/10 the money....
