        You got that right. I am running the old ATI drivers for my rig. Once I updated them and it had all kinds of problems, so I reverted and have blocked the system from automatically updating the drivers for this device. Windows updates has tried to update the drivers for this device on multiple occasions. (vista)

        I would still try running the game after you have shut down everything on the system that is running in the background. I've seen this be an issue hundreds of times.

          I'm running a 163. driver set on my 8800GTS. The current is 169.

            New PCs are like new kids. Eventually, maybe in a couple of years, all those startup troubles will be forgotten. Then you can start planning your next one.
