I'm with you Slaughter if Dual Core Xeons and Quad Core Xeons are identical it does not make sense, but I understand that GSPs only use Single or Dual Core Xeons for the big games that take a lot of CPU like 64 player BF2, Ranked.
Trinity said they have tried 64 player Ranked BF2 on a Quad Core but it simply cannot keep up; so there must be some difference between a Quad Xeon and a Single or Dual Core Xeon.
I suspect that game server software will remain single threaded for a long time, since the GSPs don't want one server instance spilling over onto other cores.
