You bet that WHAT is still vista? Most vulnerable? I highly doubt it. I'd be impressed if it were, but I think it is still going to be Mac like it was last year. OHH and apple just released a ENORMOUS security update which was done in hopes to not be the loser this round. I bet mac users who have applied the update are going "WTF? I can't even connect". I'm sure it was a scramble to get the release together, and MORE doesn't mean BETTER all the time.

Considering that a single corrupt font can bring OSX to its knees (something I unfortunately have experience with), I would expect the Crapintosh to take top honors again this year. The only reason people think OSX is secure is because hackers don't bother going after them...it's more effective to infect 94 computers than 6 computers.

Hmmm So it's not Vista, OSX and Linux...it's Vista, OSX and Ubuntu. It seems silly to use Ubuntu. Why not use the the Linux distro made by the NSA...SELinux? Reminds me when MS was trying to get Windows NT C2 certified... They did it.....but, only by having the network cable disconnected....

Whoops looks like I'm wrong. SELinux is a kernel mod..... Not a distro...looks like it's included with with ubuntu although I'm curious whether it's installed by default.

Nope. It is an OPTIONAL package now, though.

This is the result of the amazing work of the ubuntu-security and ubuntu-hardened teams, as well as the huge contributions from the folks at Tresys. (note: SELinux will not be the default, but is available as a security option.)

If you would prefer to use SELinux over AppArmour, or if you’re just a good soul that would like to help test Ubuntu’s SELinux implementation, please read on.

Install SELinux in Ubuntu 8.04

All that is needed is to install the SELinux package, which will remove AppArmour and apply the SELinux policy.

I can tell you what it does on some level. It prevents buffer overruns by validating the boundaries of the execution stack. Thats just one component but, When it comes to remote exploits thats the elephant in the room no one is talking about.

LoL.. in another thread someone else said the same thing about me using blue .... and they were using the dark colors in the forums. Go to the bottom of THIS Page and on the left hand side change it from "---Sub Blue" to "----Sub Charcoal" and I think you'll like that better.

What do you mean? The elephant in the room.... is that a good thing or a bad thing? Like.... as in.. a Bull in a china shop? Or are you saying that this is something that is a good thing that nobody wants to talk about?
