Something else to note when using Super. Just as with everthing else in the computing world, if the codecs are missing, but are proprietary, its not going to work, or tell you why.

For instance, i can encode the file to a .wma using the MS-mpeg4-v2 output video codec, but not the WMV7/8. this is because M$ decided not to distribute mpg4c32.dll with windows or any other patch update. this is a file NEEDED to convert to some video formats.

i tested it for kicks and giggles, converting a file to the WMV output container, with the MS-mpeg4-v2 Output Video Codec and mp3 as the audio codec, and it worked just fine. WMM even read it without hassle. takes some trial and error at first, but once you have the basics down, it becomes a piece of cake.Vdub & super each are good at their own respective tasks. vdub is faster, but super is simpler. vdub can be used to encode various formats via AVIsynth, but that takes some work. Vdub is also alot more powerful.

OOps! i completely missed that somehow!

Good news though. i encoded one of the mac commercials(recorded in .mov QT format) to the WMV format the SAME way using Super. just drag the .mov file into the bottom box, select:

        1. wmv
        2. MS-mpeg4-v2
        3. mp3

and then click encode! it'll turn it into a wmv, which WMM LOVES!

Let me know if you have additional problems.

          Here you go:

          http://www.movietoolbox.com/converter.html

This is the freeware version that only allows you to convert files up to a certain size.

          Here is another:

          http://www.winavi.com/mov-converter.htm

Here is a FREE one that I have not tried, but it is more or less using a couple different softwares to get the desired results. This is an info guide.

          http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/mov2avi.html

And a Fully Functional 30 day trial version that is great:

          Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satelli...=1204918397683

I could prolly crack it, but you might be looking for something a little smaller than the 100+MB download.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
