    ESA bay device.

I have been looking at putting a rig together that has ESA (Enthusiast System Architecture). I have only been able to find three cases that will have this option. I reall didn't like any of them too much but while looking around I found a bay device that will accomplish this. This way I can get whatever case I feel like and throw this in.

I'd be interested to see some real world testing done on that thing.

That looks pretty slick Duke, thanks for the heads up

Now that newly purchased Antec P180 case of mine can stop looking outdated

@ Trooper I also can't wait to see the reviews of this ESA. It will also be interesting to see what the difference is between the different companies. This one has 5 fans 3 lights and 4 temp sensors? What will the one from Coolermaster have?

@ CarbonFire. I like the idea of getting whatever case I want and throwing that bad boy in there. The cool thing is that I can pick the case that I want and add the ESA later after there is a chance to see how it all works. I would love to be able to just be able to load up a profile when I want to game and have all the lights and fans go to the proper setting.

          ESA?!??!?!

It was a GREAT plan on paper. as of yet, it has the POOREST implementation i've ever seen. that, and most companies aren't following through with it yet. not to mention most of its still in the Beta stage. as such, there is very little out there that actually is made for it so far.

Why are yuo building an ESA system?

I *think* Duke's looking more to modify his current system to use ESA. You're right though Darth, not a lot incorporates it yet and while I haven't seen any real implementation, I'd guess that support probably isn't the best for it yet. However, if it catches on, it's a really great idea for tighter control of your system.

Here's a good article on ESA. Anandtech was given an ESA box by coolermaster, and reviewed it pretty well. take note of the deficiencies. mostly all ESA does is provides more indepth info on the system & its temps, and some additional ability to control it. but for the most part, its bunk.

Now I'm in the process of build a new rig for the family. What I am hoping to do is replace certain parts of my current rig and use them in the new one. One issue I have in my current case is that larger video cards will not fit in it so I may use my current case for the new machine.

I have been using the beta version of the new system monitor that uses the ESA and I like the way I can see what all the parts are doing. I would also like to be able to OC and return it to stocks without going in the BIOS so far nute will not do this reliably. Now I OC in the BIOS and I can use the monitor to view all the numbers. I would LOVE to be able to see the numbers of my PSU and case fans with this software. I kind of hope all this gets to a point where I can come home from a trip OC my rig with a profile and have the lights and fans kick up as well. Then when I leave I can easily go back to the stock speeds.

Here is a screenie of Ntune at work.

Thanks for the linkage Darth. I don't know how I missed that article.
