Inexpensive MB for a family PC

I have mentioned before that i am building a rig for my Stepdaughter. I have most of the parts picked out and I will post them later but I am having trouble sorting through the sea of inexpensive MBs. So here is some infor and some questions.

This PC will be used for typical teenage use. Iming, Music etc. No gaming or video. I plan on using my Conroe E6600 for the CPU.

Would on board video be OK? Or would I get a better MB by scraping the on board video and going with a low end video card?

Thats all I can think of now...

Onboard video would be fine. But not many good LGA775 motherboard come with onboard and the ones that do are normally mATX.

I think a cheap motherboard and cheap gfx card would be best. I really recommend the board i just built my media PC around (for the second time in a month ).

    Gigabyte P31-DS3L

It's a cut down version of the P35-DS3L. Fewer sata ports, single PCI-E slot etc, but still a rock solid board and an absolute breeze to setup.

Gfx wise i think a 8500GT or HD3450 would more than suffice.

Just taken a look on newegg and i couldn't find that motherboard. They do however have the P31-S3G, which seems pretty much the same apart from SPDIF outputs and it's using a different audio codec.

    Review here.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
