Worst Tech Brick and Mortar Store ever!

    Office Max!!

They NEVER have the stuff I want.....even BASIC stuff....when I went over there they had NO IDE Hard Drives in stock...just portable drives

I cant install OS's on a USB Drive!

Same with alot of their other crap, nothing's not in stock, or the most common stuff is not in stock or don't carry it.

Those external drives are in fact a standard IDE drive, just with a case and a purpose of being a general 'back up' device. You must have a lousy store near you, but I have bought IDE drives from the Max, as their online site offers items that the store doesn't have. It doesn't help if you need it THAT DAY, but thems the breaks.

You sure you're not getting confused with Office Depot?

Yea, I have an Office Depot, Office Max, Staples and a Best Buy within 15 minutes of my house. Now if only Fry's would open up shop downtown ...

Each one has their little issues, but I pick and choose and find the hot deals. The day before Christmas last year I picked up 2 320gb HDs at Best Buy for $60 each.

I actually went into an Office Max this weekend. They had plenty of external drives and a few internal drives. They even had a 1TB drive and some 500Gb drives. Then they had one or two 312 GB drives. The 1 TB drive is on my wish list. The external 1TB drive was $299.00. This is the one: http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalo...skuId=21608413

I've never had any issues with finding stuff at the OfficeMax's around here. Given I don't shop there a whole lot, but when I do I've never had any issues with availability or anything.

What in the hell are we talking about?

              Online?
              In-Store?
              Online Order to Pickup?

In store I have problems finding inventory.
              Online I dont.
If they dont have it, they have a ship-to date available.

As far as choice-0 no they dont have it.
They cater to the small to mid sized businesses that are making less than 10M in revenue a year. That being said, their price point is different than other office supply stores.

CDM is where I go for all the heavy duty stuff, and I use our corporate ID.

Sure you can install Windows on a USB drive, you can install it on a flash drive too!

I like OfficeMax well enough. I can't remember the last time I bought any electronics in a physical store though. Been using Newegg for about five years now.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
