Crap not enough holes in mb tray???

So I sneak down in my basement to try to put the "Pink Monster" together and while I am putting the MB stand offs in I realize that there are not enough holes in the MB tray. I am missing one on the center rear of the MB. I thought ATX was ATX.

Short of tapping another hole in this thing is there anything that I can do?

I've had this before, but normally on cheaper cases. I just left the standoff as it won't cause any problems. Just be careful when plugging in cables etc that are near this missing standoff as the board will bend.

I was wondering if I could do that I could always put something under it to support it while I plug in the connectors around that hole. I will also head by Sears and see if I can pick up a tap & die set.

Do these screws provide for any type of grounding through the standoffs?

As long as it is off when you plug things in it should not be a problem. I have an Asus P5BE in one of my computers that was short one like that. I have not had any problems plugging anything in. The board might flex a little if it is close to that area but, it hasn't damaged the board.

No worries whatsoever. You do not need a standoff at that location, but if you really want support, my trick is to take a plastic standoff plug and cut the threaded side off, then insert that under the board. I use that on the corners of some boards that don't have a hole and it works well.

Well so far it doesn't seem to flex too much so I will let it go.

Thanks for the help guys I would have returned the MB if I didn't have all your support.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
