Installed on both computers and running without a hitch. Haven't noticed any huge improvements, but it's nice that I don't have any issues after the install.
i'll be testing it tomorrow with CoD4 (hopefully), just installed it tonight with no problems on the main rig. May try it on this laptop to see if it'll give any improvements.
so are any of you having problems yet??
im gonna wait a lil bit, when sp2 came out, it broke half my essential softwares.... and it took em a while to fix
Sheesh, I've been running it for.....well, since the last thread announcing its release and the machine updated fine, no issues, still going. I did notice a slight performance increase and a very slight memory leak had been fixed in svchost. I've not had a problem with it.
No issues with SP3 here.
Updated perfect, all my apps run fine.
I've seen an increase in boot time and speed of some apps.
And the machines 'performace' has not degraded since i installed it.
My pc is on pretty much 24/7 so any 'leaks' or poor management of data hits me.
Everything seems to be working fine here. CoD4 is ok too.

I saw a 3-4 fps improvement in CoD4 from this for some odd reason, but that was only during a 1.5 hour gaming session. I'll have a lot more data after tomorrow night as i'll have a bit of free time then. Overall though i've seen about a 10% general increase in performance with no problems at all. All seems to be well with sp3... makes me wonder if MS even made this patch.
I haven't even been notified my automatic updates that this is even available.
Have read one problem already. Apprently SP3 doesn't like a patched uxtheme.dll, but they have released a new version now SP3 is out. And it's safer to install SP3 with the original dll in place.
There is a new windows dialog, when xp thinks a proggie is suspicious, it asks to confirm its net connection..
I use a few 'remote services' and they updated the access programs the other day, low and behold I spotted a new dialog, I never thought to actually take a picture.
I don't use windows firewall or onecare or that, so i know it was not something i use for protection.
Not to change the subject or get off topic. I noticed a new dialog yesterday too, but it wasn't operating system related. I thought it was a rather ironic choice though. Hmmm Let's See... in the middle of making a long ass post I get this that blocks me from using my browser until I choose.
