i ordered the GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L, i just couldnt bring myself to order an nvidia board with such a major issue thats been essentially ignored for so long. the dsl3 isnt really what i wanted, but it was cheap, and fit my needs as well as anything else.

im really excited, friday ill have the board, Q6600, 4gigs of ocz, the GV-NX88T512HPV1 (an 8800 gt oc'ed)..... not the best of anything, but a major upgrade for me.

i just hope it fires up without issues, i dont have any spare compatable parts, im still socket 478, ddr1, and agp. if i have any doa parts, im going to be pretty scrooged...

What spurs my upgrade is, basically, a mid-life crisis ! I turn 40 in a few weeks so I'm trying to cheer myself up with some fresh parts and toys .. it usually works well until reality (and my failing health) kick in and remind me I'm no longer young enough to game with these young kids.
yes i was talking about nehalem
Mine pc is Ok for now , but nahalem is the first major updeto of CPU technology in INTEL line up after c2d , and thats the first time when they build the memory controler in to the CPU.

i really like a lot of the nvidia based boards, but i had heard (from maximumpc iirc) that the 6xx and 7xx nvidia chips wouldnt reliably support the new quads (Q9xxx), considering dukes post i now assume that this was incorrect? i had dismissed all nvidia chip boards because of this...
The problem is fixed now ...

Ordered the eVGA 750FTW yesterday. This is good news for anybody sitting on the fence at least, altho Nvidia earns no points for taking 5 months to fix the issue.

Only the 6xx series boards have issues with the 45nm quad chips ..... and its really a crapshoot even between certain brands, such as my MSI 650, as 90% of them do not support the 45nm chips, but it appears that if you sent your board back to MSI for any repairs or RMA, they set you an updated board in return that does work with the newer chips, but won't OC AT ALL.

i have ,this weekend, had the experience of putting together a rig with an e6750 and MSI P7N diamond. It was very nice, although we had trouble with setting up RAID 0 (i suspect it isnt the board's fault, just a nonstandard winXP pro OS disk)

im up and running. i was too excited and had a migraine, so i didnt do a lot of the things i shouldve.... like back up anything off my main rig before i dismantled it that includes my cod4 profile...

anyway, i really wish they wouldve fixed that issue earlier this week, i wouldve bought that board wt. congrats, i hope its everything you expect it to be.

ive learned one thing for sure today, i freakin hate the 775 fan mounting clips!! i installed the board first, and i still dont really know if the clips engaged properly, what a pain!

im about to head into cod4 to see what this thing can do! hope to see you guys

If you have only 3GB of memory you are not using the whole potential of your system , because its not running in dual channel. you have to have 2 pairs or 4 pairs of identical amount of memory to take the advantage of your hardware.

The Diff is the 750I only as 2 SLI Graphic card slots where the 780I motherboard as 3 Graphic card slots

Didn't the 750i also have one Pci-e slot running at 8x?
