    Where do you shop?

I'm getting my head above water finally at my new job...

Hopefully I'll be back online again in the near future, but I wanted to check in and see where everyone buys from.

I'm looking at my shopping list (see my previous thread about building a new rig), and I realize that there has be better places out there.

Newegg seems to be 10-20% more expensive than they should be.
Tigerdirect doest have the "everything" approach it once had.

List your favorites here please (even if it is Newegg).

    Thanks~

Newegg primarily, heh. Usually take a look at TigerDirect to see if prices are better. Every rare once in a while I'll take a look at Amazon. If I need something today and I'm willing to pony up the markup, I'll visit the local Circuit City or Best Buy.

Well here in Florida I find Newegg to have the best prices.
Even if I have to wait a few days for the item.
Only time I buy anything local is if its on sale or I just cant wait 2-5 days for an item.
Usually even after shipping Newegg is cheaper.

Newegg usually has pretty competitive prices, but there is some stuff that is more expensive there compared to tigerdirect for example. I buy from newegg, though, because they had good customer support compared to other online computer sales companies. I've had to RMA a lot of stuff and I never had to go through more trouble than I should have. Newegg FTW

                newegg.
                zipzoomfly
                directron
                tigerdirect

not in that order. I generally start with directron, then go newegg, zipzoomfly, and finally tigerdirect. Never had a problem with shiping from directron or newegg, haven't actually bought from zipzoomfly but i've seen decent prices there. Heard bad stories about tigerdirect, so I barely use them.

I cast my vote for Newegg too. I love their RMA, since i always get a DOA for some reason

I used to buy almost exclusively from Newegg, but lately they haven't been close for stuff that I am looking at. They're selling an eVGA 9800GTX for $309 plus S/H, and Buy.com has it for $269.99 with FREE S/H !!
I'm looking elsewhere to save a few bucks from etailers like Mwave (very good prices, lousy website) or ClubIT, with some TigerDirect and ZipZoomFly mixed in.

DIRECTRON...When I lived in Houston, I would go in the store, go to their website on a computer in the store, and order my stuff online. The guy wouldn't even charge me sales tax if I paid cash! And walked out with my stuff.

Nowadays I got a friend at work who knows the owner Micro Image Computers in Walnut, CA. If I drop my friend's name...same deal as with directron. Cash is king.

Other than that I watch the Fry's ads. If you can catch a sale, they are hard to beat.
