Oh man... SO LUCKY! I manged to fix the problem with my system. It was taking around 5 min to get from "XP loading" to "click here to log on" and then another 8 min to load to my desktop if ever... but it's fixed so I'll be on tonight for sure!!!

I've seen that happen with external drives that are mapped but then disconnected manually by the user, as well as a shared printer that is unavailable. I'm hoping Hobo has some info for us on what was the problem.

I am not exactly sure of the problem, as it seemed to "fix" it's self. I am using a few network drives but I don't think that they are the root of the problem. I did find that I had "downloaded" some windows updates and then restated without completely installing them. The shutdown took longer than usual and would just hang at a black screen. So I forced the shutdown (holding down the power key) which probably wasn't the best idea, and when I rebooted it would take forever to load (if it ever did). I had run into this problem before when my anti-virus (Mcaffe) had gone crazy. After removing it everything went back to normal.... but mcaffe wasn't installed this time... I'm still trying to find the source of the problem. I'll keep you posted.
