      The END?

LOL i just had to buy something new man , i had 8800GTX for 14 months , and until now there was nothing that really tempted me , GX2 its not my type of card. I kind a dislike dual cards. Not to mention incompatibilities that they have with some games.

Only problem is Bob there are some games that the GX2 card is goin to own the new g280's on until the software catches up. The gx2's have the advantage there since they have been out longer. People talk about duel card problems and the like and I had an SLI system for over 8 months the only reason i changed was cause i needed more power and i ended up paying $300 to replace 1 grand worth of hardware that wasnt even a year old. So i say wait and see

But if you have cash to burn can I have some?

Btw Walkintarget those watercooled g280's go for $880 apiece at tigerdirect.

Sweet Mother of Pearl !!! ... sign me up for TWO !!!

Here's some reading on one of the issues with SLI cards, either in GX2 format or two separate cards. Its called micro stuttering, and its an issue that I haven't seen mentioned specifically, but read up on it and impress your friends:

Walkintarget i ran sli for 8 or so months i know about the frame problem and the best way to avoid that is have each card render half of the frame... My 2 7800 gtx ko's where only about 900 points behind the 8800 gts g92 that i have now.

Agreed, my 7900GS cards scored similar to my GTS G80, but I wanted to try SLI just to say I did it, but I always like to give guys the dark side details of SLI as well. In my case, I even ran out of fan headers to power the Zalman fans that I had added to both cards, so SLI has some other issues that can crop up from time to time that are annoyingly odd.

Only if they can work the bugs out. Having 50% more then the 8800 gtx does not mean it will do 50% better. Also a gx2 is basically 2 8800(g92) gts's glued togeather. A single G92 8800 gts can give an 8800 GTX a run for its money. Especially if you start oC'ing. And I dont believe they have all the bugs out of the GX2's either so there should be some more sli/duelcard loving in the future.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
