Dual Core Optimizer

What is it? does anyone use this? I run and AMD and some say I should get it. Will it do anything? Maybe I already have it. How do I check?

Supposedly when installed it helps the overall performance of the processor, makes it run smoother in other words. But I myself have never really noticed any changes when having it installed and not having it. But its simple to install so might as well, I know of no negative effects of having it installed. I am running an AMD as well and have it installed and I haven't had any trouble with it. Odds are if you've never heard of it, then you don't have it, but if you want it I can post a link, but I would like to know what type of processor you are running, just to see that you are even able of using it. (no point if your on a single core)

Be careful when running both the AMD Optimizer and the MS AMD patch for dual core rigs, as they sometimes conflict with each other. It all depends on your hardware on whether they peacefully co-exist, but like Walrus mentioned, you can simply uninstall it if you have any issues.
