If you have Realtek onboard audio, it would probably be worth it to get offboard sound. I heard their EAX support blows. Personally, I think it is worth it to get offboard. Juneau, I assume you meant discrete cards, there .. but knowing how bad Realtek was, maybe you were correct in your actual statement !
