Sorry if this is going to rain on your parade.. but i doubt you will hit 4.0Ghz on air with that CPU, i think 3.2 to 3.4 is going to be your limit. my Q6600 (G0) can only hit 3.8ghz under watercooling and horrible ram timings (ballistix, so its not my ram holding me back).

either way, any quad +3Ghz is amazingly fast. i hope you enjoy yours ^^

Sippie .. welcome to the forums, BTW .. yea, I always do my research on things, but had so focused on buying the Q9450 that I didn't do enough homework on the Q6700. Assuming, wrongly, that the Q6700 would equal the E8400, I soon found out 3.6 was the high end limit for the chip.
I'm at 3.33 now with absolutely no changes to anything other than the FSB (from 1067 to 1333) and disabling C1E. I started to tweak the RAM but ran into issues when I found that none of the monitoring software reads the +12 rail correctly.
My cores are from 43-39 at idle, so that seems reasonable, but due to the weird temp/voltage readings, I haven't leaned on this overclock to see if 3.6 is do-able.
