2GB of RAM is pointless! It's just bumping the price up for no reason. 4850 and 4870 is where it's at.

I have now 2 VGAs , one Powercolor 4850 and MSI GTX 280

4850 is OK card , but really hot and loud fan. 280 on the other hand is suppose to be a lot hotter but is not. I guess is because of the fan. really efficient. On COD4 1900x1200 everything on MAX , some times there is some problems with 4850 i cant really describe it but i feel it. With GTX 280 no problems what so ever.

well considering the GTX 260/280s are at least $300+ (usually more), The radeons are a better buy. I don't think the 4850 is supposed to fight the 280.

Why the heck does the 260 have 896MB of memory? Who came up with that size?

too bad its out of stock!

also, its just absurd that nvidia is charging much more, they ought to at least bring their prices down to ATI's!

I will just say its about time ATI got something out there. NVIDIA has had no competition so they have steadily increased prices... On the flip side that means they have had more cash for R&D so they wont let ATI stomp them for long. ATI is owned by AMD who at present are lossing cash on all fronts so if they dont turn things around they wont survive.

Wrong. AMD are doing very very well in the OEM and mobile markets.

I always thought ATI was better because they have higher core and memory clock speeds (usually) than nvidia. I've never owned an ATI card though but i recently got a laptop with a 8600GT in it which runs well. Gets really hot though when im playing games. Laptop cooler solved that

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
