Realtek offers up their version of ALchemy

Huhhh, this is a surprise. Realtek has put together a new audio effects utility that acts similarly to Creative's ALchemy software, in that it adds back the audio effects such as surround, spatial effects and reverb for legacy games running under the Vista Operating System.

Anyone want to give it a try ? Its beta right now, but still worth a look if you have the hardware and software to take advantage of it.

    Whoa cool

Creative has some hard times. As a side note I used toIT for EMU/Ensoniq which was bought by creative. If fact I had to go to the dude who created the emu10k1 chip house and setup his VPN

Wow, now there's a name I haven't heard in a looong time ! My first sound card I ever bought was a PAS 16 (Pro Audio Spectrum). The next one I bought was an Ensoniq Soundscape that damn near was 12" long !! It had a bracket on the end to hold it against the drive cage it was that long !
I tossed that card only a year or two ago, as it was ISA and I didn't have any old boards that even had an ISA slot in them.
