Mic Problems

I installed CS 1.6 for some an oldschool realtime shooter feel, and I'd like to use my mic while playing.

It's rather old, bought it a few seasons ago, I don't remember if any software came with it but when I plug it in into the comp, it doesnt pick up on it.

Its that microphone if you were wondering, I was hoping maybe someone could help me out with this, I always ran into trouble with mics.

I kept having trouble with "on-the-desk" mic's as well. So I eventually got a pair of headphones that have a mic built into them... now I don't have to worry about it anymore because it just plugs into the mic-in jack on the back of the computer... no more problems.
