have you tried setting the vpc's adapter to shared network (nat) i'm using an older msvpc so might be different.

I know that works for me when i try that.

XP will go for a 'working' adapter first, so try either removing all its info, or disabling it.

Depending on how the VPN policy is setup you might be able to just connect using the same policy but with the built in IPSec stack on vista.

Now that I understand a little better of what you are trying to do. I don't see how this is possible with one NIC. As long as the VPN client has the virtual NIC wrappered in VPC it can't talk to anything else except the negotiating server on the long haul.
Maybe.., just maybe if you have 2 NICS configured in the host and you setup both in VPC, have the VPN client bind to one and use the other to bridge the hosting Vista.
I still don't think this will work but it's a idea.
Also, download xVM from Sun and see if that has any features that might be useful.

Saw this posted elsewhere

have been successfully used VPNC opensource client with vista 64 bit. Procedure is bit complicated, you must first install cygwin to run gnu software. Then you need to install compiler, download vpnc, compile it, install openvpnc tap adapter and finally change scripts to work with windows. Those not familiar with opensource software and compiling can fortunately find some help with google. I have included link (1st link) with procedure.

I you have any linux experience this is piece of cake, otherwise, just read the instructions.

Only problem I have had with vpnc is that I does not seem to support cisco client certificates.

Second link is perl script for converting cisco profiles and third link is cisco-decrypt program used by the script. You must compile this before running the script.
