Not sure exactly how to do it, I believe it is possible, but it's really difficult. Vista's boot loader doesn't like other OS's to be installed after Vista is already present. If you go from a XP install to a dual boot with Vista however, Vista's boot loader will integrate them properly.

I'll see if I can dig anything up for you Ghost, but from what I remember it's not a super easy process.

Why bother with messing with various bootloader issues. See if you can change the drives boot order in the Bios and switch it that way. It's a bit of a headache to go into the bios each time you wanna change the boot order but, you won't mess up your MBR.

        Nnnoooooooooooo

        DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!

my computer is the same way and the way it works is if you put an older version of windows on after a newer 1 (xp after vista) the older version will re-write the master boot log and will make it so you can no longer boot with vista. i just did it the right way and i have a whole mess of problems so unless you want to say goodbye to vista DO NOT DO IT unless you wonna get rid of vista put xp on , then put vista back on. unfortunately windows is not user friendly and you can't put a older version on first unless you want to mess stuff up big time

          whoops!

forgot to accualy help you lol...

if you want to set up a multiboot with vista and xp you gotta put xp on 1 harddrive(when you boot the xp disk it lets you choose) run the disk then partition another harddrive unless you have 2(think you said you did) then boot the vista install disk choose the unused harddrive then install and that all there is to it(just make sure you do it right a.k.a vista after xp) if you still have problems try disengaging one of the harddrives (and i forget how lol)

If he does by the system bios he won't overwrite the MBR/bootloader.

Have you tried running BF2 in Vista? It does work sometimes, but it seems to be a tossup. I was able to get BF2 to work in Vista for a while. Had some problems and had to Reinstall Vista. After the reinstall, i could not patch BF2...

Check out Install Windows XP in a Dual Boot with Pre-installed Windows Vista

Obviously most of the partition stuff won't apply to you, since you have a second physical drive to install it to.

I found and bookmarked that a while ago. I knew it would come in handy! Hehe.

i have xp on 1 drive and vista on another. I installed vista with the xp drive not connected. Then after install and updates i disconnected vista and plugged back in xp drive and made it my default loading drive.

Then after a couple reboots i replugged back in the vista drive and when in xp it acks as a storage drive. When i wanna use vista i just esc and go into bios and choose the vista drive to boot.

When in vista the xp drive acks as a backup drive. But on reboot the computer defaults to loading the xp drive.

Dual Boot. Uhhh it would be smarter to install XP then Vista.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
