Mapes. I ran 3 tracerts for over 20 minuets to msn.com, yahoo.com, google.com, and cainslair.com... all showed ping spikes from the third hop at 150-250ms.... I forwarded them all of those tracerts... lol.

The problem with just using traceroute is that it's ICMP. Usually ICMP has a low priority. This is why I'd use an extremely large TCP file transfer. TCP file transfers have a tendency of saturating a connection and last for a longer duration. You could also look at pathping utility in windows might help

I have a ping plotter program and i'm gonna continue to use it as well... they are suposed to give me a call up by the end of the day today... if I don't hear from them then i'm going to call them up tomorrow and find out what's up...

Do you not hear the words coming out of my mouth? Try using something that doesn't use ICMP

ping plotter simply watches the pings and p/l from my computer to whatever server I tell it to watch. I'm going to load it while playing CoD4 or C:W or some other game and see what it tells me... It's nothing more then the lag-o-meter in CoD4 in a seperate program so I can record it as I go...

So what I'm trying to say is using ICMP to diagnose latency is not always the best. Traceroute programs are use to primarily find out where the route of a packet breaks. ICMP style packets have the lowest priority out over most routers and commonly they are filtered. Also UDP protocol (used by most games) by it's very nature is also crap for testing as there is no error correction built into the protocol. I would use a tool that sends TCP packets like this

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
