Had many Gainward cards and they're great. I don't think i'd be buying a 9800GT though tbh.

        Ati hd4850 or hd4870.

Nvidia has extremely poor price/performance ratios right now.

Do any of the ATI companies have support thats on par with EVGA/BFG. ie. lifetime warranty and tech support.

When it comes to warranties no, but when was the last time you bought a graphics card, knowing beforehand that it will still be in use after 3 years? I know i never have.

Most Ati cards have either 2 or 3 years warranty and have great tech support.

2 or 3 years is plenty but is it a hassle with them or is it a no questions asked send it in kind of thing. Also whats their policy on Overclocking?

Heh, you quoted while i was editing.

No hassle. Just your usual really. Card dead, request RMA, send back, recieve same or better card.

Overclocking does break the warranty yes. Iirc only EVGA allows this under their warranty.

But tbh, it's impossible for them to know if it's been overclocked or not as the overclock is controlled and applied by the software on your PC. Unless of course you start doing it by modding the GFXBIOS.

That's why i try and keep on top of it all. My main focus right now is motherboards and graphics cards. I'll leave CPU's to somebody on here.

Yeah I hate to say it but if I was going to buy a video card right now I'd have to go ATI... Too bad EVGA doesn't make ATI cards

Visiontek offers a lifetime warranty on the ATI side of things. The 4850 for under $150 is a killer deal.

Gainward is primarily a UK/Asia distributor known for their higher end non reference cards named 'Golden Sample'. I think of them like another vendor (no longer around) named Elsa, who distributed from Germany, but they made an excellent card.

I'd have no problem recommending a Gainward card, but it is indeed a bad time to be buying a video card, what with the arrival of the GTX260 refresh and the ATI 4850x2 cards. I still would recommend the 4850 Visiontek card for that price point.

The GTX260 refresh is pathetic WT. It's exactly the same with a few more shaders.
