    Apache Needs Help

I need to build or buy two computers for my store.

Number one is going to be connected to a 40 inch LCD TV and will only be used to run copies of our commercials and photos of jewelry I am selling.

Number two is going to be connected to a 32 inch LCD TV and will be used by my wife. She will be working with customers and displaying merchandise from our vendor's websites.

These computers need to be as inexpensive as possible.

    Thanks to all who reply.

Check out the list that was put in here. I think you may have different video needs but it could get the creative juices flowing.

I'm thinking the CompGeeks refurb/de-branded rigs are the way to go, but the main problem I see with the ones listed are there is no way to output to the TV screen (ie: you'd need an S-video or composite output from your video source to go to the TV).
You could add hardware to it, but we are trying to do it without adding the hardware. Any A/V gurus wanna chip in here ?? Audio/Video stuff is my Achilles heel.

If they don't have them, get a cheap video card with DVI output, and either the LCD TVs he has have DVI inputs, or you get a DVI to HDMI converter. In either case he'll have to run sound separately anyway.

Both TV's have S Video and I thought I would run them that way. Would the DVI to HDMI Converter be better?

Yes. After composite, s-video is the lowest of the low.

              Composite < S-Video < RGB < HDMI

All onboard setups seem to lack a secondary output, so it looks like adding a card is the only option. Might I recommend this:

$17 for an ATI 2400XT fanless card is a nice deal.

Some of the TV's have svga hook up's so it's just a matter of plugging in a system. Some come with DVI. Alternatively my refurbed dell XPS (thanks Duke) comes with HDMI out....

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
