    Vista issues

    What I want to do is organize my start menu, as far as folders go. In XP, I had 5 basic folder, like Apps, Accessories, Multimedia, Startup and something else.

    I tried accessing these in the windows explorer, so I could change them around. But I get this access denied. Does anyone know how I can make new folders in my start menu?

    Thanks

    All I want is five basic folders, so my initial start menu is NOT cluttered.... pretty much the opposite of this:

        You may have an "administer" account, but it's not the actual administer account with root access. You need to actually log in as the administrator to gain full access. I didn't think organizing your start menu would be an issue there though...

          Well I installed the OS lol....

          how do I login as admin then?

          When I installed it I only created ONE password, then later on, deleted the password.

            Do a start run and open a cmd then run net user <your username> and see what groups are assigned to you.

            Here's what mine looks like and I have no problem.

              Well I finally found it....you have to right click the START button and "Open all users"

              Vista = poop!

                Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
