First BSOD in a long long time

I installed some new RAM about a week ago.

    Now running 1x2 + 1x2 = 4GB of ram

The Corsair XMS2 stuff, and for the OS its Vista 64bit

got a BSOD after playing a long session of BF2. something about memory dump or page dump?

I really hope its not the RAM....what do you think

First thing I would do... take out the new ram... see if you get BSOD...

Regardless, when you have more time, you will need to download memtest and test all of your ram to check for errors

When you get a blue screen record as much as you can.

The reason's 'name' near the top

The stop code, at the bottom
      should say
      Stop:

and the file which windows has last in the call stack, (the addresses sometimes help, usually the first one)
      the very last line.

      Those will be more helpful.

If your pc just reboots automaticly, turn it off a boot via F8 or
right click my computer > properties > advanced
      Click the bottom 'settings' button
      uncheck automatic reboot

I'm not insane. I'm just overwhelming!

Well I got this from that little box that pops up once you get back into windows.

        Problem signature:

        Additional information about the problem:
        BCCode: 1
        BCP1: 0000000077AC5CAA
        BCP2: 0000000000000000
        BCP3: 00000000FFFF0000
        BCP4: FFFFFA600FD87CA0
        OS Version: 6_0_6001
        Service Pack: 1_0
        Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
        C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini102508-02.dmp
        C:\Users\ryanbatc\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-27128-0.sysdata.xml
        C:\Users\ryanbatc\AppData\Local\Temp\WER9887.tmp.v ersion.txt

I will try to take a picture of the BSOD next time.

Checked overnight with MemTest (about 10 hours) - ZERO errors at 250% coverage lol

I would just take out the new RAM and see if you are still BSOD'ing...

A few weeks back I got new RAM and I started getting BSODs, and there were no errors on memtest. I take the new RAM out, it works fine again

What RAM was it? Did you RMA it or what?

What's the motherboard. Some boards just don't like 4gb.

I know the 680i had issues with 4GB I don't know if the 780i does too.

I believe I had to update the BIOS on my 680i board to get it to work with 4GB.

                      Run memtest.....
Check your bios settings. Sometimes you need to bump up voltage a little. or you need to change your cas setting. On my system when i added 2 more sticks i had to go from cas 2 to cas 2.5

Alright, this has been happening more frequently now...

Though the only time I''ve noticed it is during BF2, mostly longer sessions, 2+ hours etc

Heres the pic i took with my cam... there is no warning, the game just stops and then the BSOD comes

try reinstalling BF2 and checking your ram, and if possible adding another Hard disk and making like half of it into virtual ram

Did you try running your PC on just 2 sticks for a while?

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
