Well the 9 series cards are just 8800 cards with improved Sli so if i was u save you cash and buy a 260 card or Ati 4850 card

      +1

Sli'ing old cards just isn't worth it. Sli overall IMO isn't worth it. Grab the new version of the GTX260 or the HD4850. I'd probably go for the 4850 due to the cheaper price.

If you had a large screen and an 8800 series card you might see a benefit from it. the only way it works out is if you get the second card really cheap.

Pick out a shiny new one.

Guys, did you think to ask him how much power supply he has before jumping on the GTX260 bandwagon ? With an 8600 card, he could have been running an Ultra 500w that isn't even going to begin to power up the GTX260.

I don't mind the replies for the question, but think about the total package and how a new higher end card can affect the rest of the components if they are suitable older and outdated.

smokeyb, welcome to the Cains Lair forums, and we are glad to have you here. We will do our best to help you out with the vide card upgrade, but its best to find out what power supply you have in your case. If you don't know, there should be a sticker on the power supply listing the wattages. Post the one that indicates what your +12v rail will support and we'll go from there.

It all depends on the whole system specs and not the single gfx card imho.

CM normally make decent PSU's. What are the 12V ratings? What is the rest of your spec?
