    Keyboard Getting nasty

Over time, through oily skin and such...dirt starts to build up...I was able to "blow stuff" out, but...some stuck jsut "Sticks to the Keys" on the sides

Short of getting a new keyboard, I could pop outall the keys, but it'd take a long time.

Anyone got any recommendations, or just get a new cheap keyboard?

Send it through the dishwasher. Only problem is that you have to make sure that it is thorough dry before plugging it back in. Oh, and don't use the heated drying cycle either

Rubbing alcohol and a pack of gauze squares. I use these to clean some nasty keyboards over the summer when the kids aren't in school, and it works wonders for even the grimiest of keyboards.

No. He isnt, but you gotta keep in mind that you dont want to use detergent when you do that. It's an old trick that some of us have been using for years.

You only have 3 options anyways right?

          Bear it.

          Throw it out.

          Wash it.

Plinking off keys and etc is a pain in the neck, and the rubbing alcohol suggestion is only fun until you accidently rub half the letters off the keys.

I go through a keyboard every two years, so I dont really care if the thing dies thanks to the dishwasher or not. I just run it through and then put it on the picnic bench outside in the sun all day, taking the time to unscrew the back so all the water drains out of it.

Don't wash it in the dishwasher if it has a LCD also. When I built the Pink Monster for my Stepdaughter I dissembled a MX 5000 wireless keyboard and painted parts of it. A little alcohol took off all the grime on the keys It was easy to do when they aren't attached to the board. The larger plastic parts were easy to wash in the sink. It came out nlike new. Here is a pic from my Pink Monster album.

Nonsense, just wrap a plastic bag over the screen and you're good to go.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
