    This might be usefull
Heres a speed test location: I believe this location is the same building the cainslair servers are posted from

    LogicSouth - Speed Test

Doesn't work out well for me.

    Last Result:
Download Speed: 6560 kbps (820 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 455 kbps (56.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Probably too much stress on the LS servers to give accurate results.

    edit: Mmmm better.

    Tue, 18 Nov 2008 20:47:35 GMT

    Test 1: 1024K took 875 ms = 1170.3 KB/sec, approx 9643 Kbps, 9.42 Mbps
    Test 2: 1024K took 860 ms = 1190.7 KB/sec, approx 9811 Kbps, 9.58 Mbps
    Test 3: 1024K took 843 ms = 1214.7 KB/sec, approx 10009 Kbps, 9.77 Mbps
    Test 4: 2048K took 1735 ms = 1180.4 KB/sec, approx 9726 Kbps, 9.5 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 9797 Kbps, 9.57 Mbps

Yeah I was too. These sites can give you a good idea of where slow downs on the net are too.

                      LOL, you're funny Ghost_Rain.
You get different results due to the route and the hops in the route it takes. All these servers do is measure the amount of time it takes to download and upload a certain size file. This is a pretty standard way to measure your connection speed between two points on the internet
